Personal Finance for Healthcare Professionals

Pulse Physio and Performance Edition

We graduate, eager to launch our careers as rehab professionals. We've got the clinical knowledge and people skills to secure that first job. The first paycheck arrives, and we might celebrate – a nice dinner, new clothes. But then reality hits, and it hits hard: the crushing weight of student loans, the ongoing car payments, the constant pressure of rent, the distant goal of homeownership, and the confusing world of taxes and investments.

And it's not just personal finances. We're also thrust into the administrative demands of practice: charting, scheduling, billing – tasks we often feel unprepared for, leading to overwhelm and burnout. We're left wondering how to balance delivering quality care with managing the business side of things effectively.

That was my experience. I felt lost, not just financially, but also in navigating the practice management maze. It's why I developed a plan to build the life I want, beyond just trading time for dollars, a plan that includes both financial mastery and efficient practice management strategies.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • While I don't have a traditional degree in finance, my expertise comes from a passion for financial literacy cultivated over my 14-year career as a physical therapist. I learned through self-education, countless hours of research from books and podcasts, and real-world experience—including a few costly mistakes. This journey has given me a deep, practical understanding of the financial hurdles that healthcare professionals face.

To formalize that knowledge and better serve my community, I am now a Certified Financial Counselor (CFC). This certification combines my lived experience with a rigorous, evidence-based framework for financial education. My goal is to use this unique blend of professional insight and certified expertise to help you avoid the same pitfalls I encountered and empower you to take control of your financial future.

  • Budget for around 60-75mins. There will be a presentation followed by an opportunity to ask me questions!

  • First, this is not a get-rich-quick scheme, nor is the information designed to get ‘filthy rich. There is so much more to life than money. I have designed this course first and foremost to disseminate information that the most wealthy in society already know but the poor and middle class don’t. Secondly, to present the opportunities of what can be achieved by allied health professionals so that they can take control of their lives and achieve their own sense of fulfillment.

  • No, unfortunately not, for a few reasons. I have found those people who make learning a priority will get the most out of the material. Furthermore, live engagement allows for a more enriching conversation. Lastly, a few of my slides will come directly from my paid courses and e-guides, so out of respect for my paying customers, I will not provide a recording.

  • I get it, life happens and sometimes interrupts our best intentions. If you cannot attend, you can find past recordings (however not exactly the same as this seminar) on EMBODIA. There will be both free and paid content for your consumption.
